This report presents and discusses recent evidence about donor efforts to strengthen public financial management (PFM) in developing countries. It seeks to answer two key questions -
- what have been the outcome of donor support in particular on economic stability and public service delivery?
- what factors have contributed to successful donor support to public financial management both with regard to where it is given and how it is given?
