In India BIOFIN is anchored at the Ministry of Environment, Forests Climate Change (MoEFCC) with project management support, among others, from UNDP. This study report is a part of the overall BIOFIN study in India. The main objectives of the study as per the terms of reference for the National Institute of Public Finance & Policy (NIPFP) are:
- Appraisal of relevant programs at the state level corresponding to BIOFIN Workbook 1A and 1B in Maharashtra.
- Analysis of public expenditure on biodiversity conservation in the pilot state of Maharashtra.
- Assessment of expenditure on biodiversity conservation at the central level by central public sector enterprises.
- Assessment of expenditure on biodiversity conservation at the central level by civil society organizations.
- Assessment of international funds flow in India for conservation of biodiversity.
