Focused on the UK and aimed at enabling the country to meet its targets for reducing green house gas emissions at an affordable cost, the CBI Climate Change Task Force was constituted with top business leaders from the country which went on to commission a study by McKInsey & Co. to assess the costs and benefits of different options. While the conclusions of the study are not unexpected, the report points out that three inter dependent players must be roped in for the country's efforts to see the light of the day, the players being consumers, businesses and governments. Further, it talks about the vital role that technology will play in the process. It states that implementation has to be the focus together with improving policies aorund climate change with economic competitiveness underpinning these policies.
