Public Finance Reforms in Kenya Issues and Relevance Under the Context of Devolution

SID undertook a critically review the PFM Act 2012 with the aim of highlighting the gains for gender equality as well as accountability structures for the devolved government. The study involved a review of the highlights of the Act as well as situational analysis on the implementation of the Act in various counties in the country. Views of representatives of key institutions in the public finance sector in Kenya specifically relating to the gains as well as challenges that will face the implementation of the PFM Act in Kenya were sort. This report documents the findings of the study and provides useful recommendations that would lead to the successful implementation of the Act in Kenya.
